Assignment:

Standardized testing has been used as a method to evaluate teacher effectiveness as well as program effectiveness. There is a quote on, "Standardized achievement test scores do not prove a measure of school or teacher quality or the means for improving school and teacher quality. They represent "the effect of school factors in combination with other factors beyond the control of teachers and school leaders." Is it possible that our teacher-made assessments can also represent "the effect of school factors in combination with other factors beyond the control of teachers and school leaders." I ask this question because assessing learning can and I believe is the most difficult task in which a teacher has to engage.

How will you ensure that you are assessing a student's learning on a test or a task and that you are not holding a student responsible for learning that is outside of their control?
