Assignment:

Growing up, we are often taught that history is a factual subject. But as we learned this week, we don't have access to a past that is unmediated. We rely on historians to make choices about the facts, such as meaning and importance. In addition to the historians' narratives, history often has many sides. If we look at Pearl Harbor, there is probably a stark difference between how American students and Japanese students learn about the events that unfolded.
