In this reaction, we are actually measuring the rate of formation of the carbocation intermediate. It would be possible for the carbocation to proceed to a product other than the alcohol discussed in the Experimental writeup without changing out kinetics calculation. Write the structure of another organic product that might be produced from the carbocation intermediate in this reaction. (Consider possible reactions available to carbocations (loss of proton to base; reaction with any nucleophile present in reaction mixture)).
