Question: Evaluate plan and review individual PerformanceAfter three months on to the job, HR have planned to conduct a 3-month probation period review with Kay.

During the review interview with Kay, HR have observed that Kay struggles to control her emotions as she is not getting enough support from her team due staff shortage or gap in the trainings. By talking through different situations at work, you identify areas for improvement as this performance barrier impacts on her daily duties. To improve Kay's performance, you decide to support her with extra mentoring and training.
HR and Kay agree on attending Professional Development Workshops and regular, weekly coaching by the industry experts over the next six months.

Task 1:

Facilitate a meeting with Kay ensuring that you address the following:
• Which training/workshops will you prioritise for Kay?
• What steps would you take to resolve the conflicts between Martha and the team leader? If the conflicts cannot be resolved what actions should be taken?
• Identify if goals are being met or if help is needed to assist Kay in meeting these!
• Discuss the performance management plan and review/identify current and future professional development opportunities with Kay!
• Revise the plan and practices to help Kay to continue in her performance!
• Coach Kay to develop strategies to overcome her own short fallings and how in future she can manage her work relationships better with the other team members and with the board members.
