Assignment:
How would you evaluate the science of the intervention in the reduction of gun violence? In other words, how would you evaluate whether the intervention was effective at addressing the problem? Your answer should explain the methods that you would use to evaluate this (i.e., questionnaire, interview, observations of behavior, etc.). For example, if I designed an intervention to improve health in children through better nutrition, I would want to measure their health with a doctor's physical before and after the nutrition intervention to see if their health actually did improve due to the intervention.
How would you evaluate the ethics of the intervention in the reduction of gun violence? In other words, how would you evaluate your intervention to ensure that the intervention participants are receiving intended benefits but no unintended consequences? Your answer should explain the methods you would use to evaluate this (i.e., questionnaire, interview, observations of behavior, etc.). Using the previous example, I could administer a survey to assess whether the foods I chose to include led to any negative side effects (i.e., food allergies).
How would you evaluate the financial accountability of the intervention in the reduction of gun violence? In other words, how would you determine if the cost to implement the intervention would be worth it to the stakeholders? Using the previous example, I could compare the cost of providing the food to the participants to doctor's bills 12 months after the intervention to see if providing better nutrition lowers healthcare costs enough to justify the program.
