Problem: Review the material on self-regulation in the chapter and then design a self-regulation training program to help you learn and improve a skill or behavior that you want to improve (i.e., making presentations, time management, exercising, quitting smoking, etc.). Once you have chosen a skill or behavior, prepare a self-regulation program. Be specific about what exactly you are going to do at each step in the process (i.e., how and when you will observe and keep track of your behavior and observe the behavior of others; set specific goals; when you will practice and rehearse the desired behaviors; how you will keep track of your progress; and how you will reward yourself for goal achievement). Once you have prepared your program, meet with another member of the class to review and evaluate each other's self-regulation program.
