The purpose of this assignment is to develop learners' ability to:

REQUIREMENT
You are required to answer the TWO (2) assignment questions attached. This assignment should be completed individually.
Question 1: Case Report
Based on an interview with the Human Resource Manager of an organisation of your choice, write a real life case report with regards to any of the following issues :
Your case may be one of the following listed below (but not limited to):
• Human resource management (HRM) strategy and analysis
• Job Analysis and Talent Management
• Personnel Planning and Recruiting
• Selection
• Performance Management Appraisal
• Training and Developing Employees
• Employee Retention, Engagement and Careers
• Pay, Incentives and Benefits
• Ethics and Employee Rights, and Discipline
• Labour Relations and Collective Bargaining
• Employee Safety and Health
• Managing Global Human Resources
• HR in Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprise
In your preparation of your case report, you are advised to take into consideration the following:
• Introduction - the opening section describes the rationale for the case study, including the firm's background & profile, its current position & performance and its internal & external environment. Suggested to have pictures, graphs, tables etc, as to illustrate the situation.
• Issue/s - the following section states the main issue/s which needs to be resolved, such as pay, or incentives and benefits, or labour relations or collective bargaining etc.
• Suggested Solutions - this is the heart of the document. It describes the solution in detail, how it was implemented, and the impact on users, methodologies, and other factors that contributed to the overall deployment. You may include sidebars, charts and graphs to highlight key points.
• Evaluation - in the final section, conclude the report by evaluating the solution's impact (usually positive), discuss lessons learned, and the next steps to be taken.
• Summary- covered all of the key points of the assignment.
Question 2: Case Study - Lui Wee International
1. What are the advantages and disadvantages of Lui Wee Int. in hiring part-time workers?
2. A good attitude and commitment are two important attributes that Lui Wee Int. looks for in its job applicants.
a) In your opinion, is a job interview an effective method to assess these two attributes? Justify your answer.
b) What else can Lui Wee Int. do to get reliable information on these two attributes?
3. What are your other suggestions that would assist Lui Wee Int. to improve further its recruiting processes?
