Assignment:

The Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) is one therapeutic, preventative intervention created to promote population health and wellness. The DPP is a lifestyle intervention program that targets high-risk adults to delay or prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes. The program's primary goals are encouraging weight loss, improving physical activity levels, and enhancing dietary habits.

According to the CDC, 37.3 million (11.3%) and 96 million (23%) of the US population had diabetes or prediabetes mellitus in January 2021, respectively. The DPP has accomplished its primary objectives of reducing the prevalence of type 2 diabetes and enhancing overall wellness. In particular, for people with a history of GDM, DPP has been demonstrated to be a helpful method for changing behavior, decreasing weight, and reducing cardiometabolic risk factors in general (Henderson et al.,2023). The Finnish Diabetes Prevention Study's findings, which showed that T2D might be averted if high-risk patients acknowledged recommended lifestyle adjustments, were reported by Tuomilehto2 in 2001.

The CDC DPP, a randomized, controlled clinical trial carried out at 27 US clinical facilities involving >3230 people, was sponsored by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases and investigated the 10-year follow-up of the adoption of these lifestyle changes. Through significant weight loss achieved through a lifestyle modification program (increasing physical activity and making dietary modifications), this experiment showed that people at high risk for T2D could delay or prevent the onset of the disease. Significant health outcomes have been improved due to the program's focus on lifestyle interventions and behavior change, and the persistence of these benefits over time implies that the DPP is an effective strategy for preventing chronic disease. What is your comment/feedback on this statement. With reference please.

FYI this is the basis of her answer: Evaluate a clinical preventative intervention designed to promote health and wellness for populations. Summarize the intervention and explain whether it has been successful. You will use the clinical preventative intervention you select for DQ2.
