Topic 2024 elections are coming up! 2024 is also a presidential election year. When elections are held, people head to the polls to vote for candidates at the national, state, and local levels. So, for example, if you''re voting in Texas this year, that means you''ll cast a ballot for FEDERAL offices of U.S. President, U.S. Senator from Texas, and U.S. House of Representative from your district in Texas; STATE offices, which include your representative for the Texas Senate, your rep for the Texas House of Representatives, and several other state, county, and local offices.
The primary elections happen in March, which is where the Democratic candidates face off against each other and the same for the Republican candidates. For example, if there are several Democrats running to be a U.S. Senator from Texas, they will compete against each other in the primary elections in March and the same goes for the Republican candidates. The winners that emerge from each party in the primaries will then face off against each other in the general election in November.
