In 1982 Eric Wolf published a fascinating book titled Europe and the People Without History. Wolf's central point is that history can be cruel, that oftentimes peoples and societies get left out of the narrative because historians decide to write on something else, something they have deemed more important, which is really stupid by the way in my opinion. The Asante people of west Africa were an amazing people, deserving of consideration and analysis of their historical legacy. This is not a foreign concept to us as I bet if you look around your world you can probably think of at least one social issue that is on the back burner so to speak, an issue that doesn't get much airtime or discussion or help.

So for this reflection identify an issue happening today that you think needs more attention. Write up a one paragraph summary of the issue and why you think it doesn't get attention and then in a second paragraph explore what you think you should do to get the word out.
