Ethylene Oxide(EO) is prepared by the vapor-phase oxidation ofethylene. Its main uses are in the preparation of the antifreezeethylene glycol and in the production of poly(ethyleneterephthalate), which is used to make beverage bottles and fibers. Pure EO vapor can decompose explosively:

(EO),H2C-O-CH2(g)-->CH4(g)+CO(g)
Liquid EO has Heat offormation(deltaHf )=-77.4kJ/mol and Heat ofVaporization(deltaHvap)=569.4J/g.

a)Find delta Hrxn for the gas-phase reaction.

(b)Due to external heating, the vapor decomposes at 10 bar and 93C(degree Celsius) in distillation column. What is the final temperature if the average specific heat capacity of the productsis 2.5J/g.C?
