Ethical principles are never right or absolute because there are exceptions to every rule, such as the rule not to kill -- because killing in self-defense is justified -- or the rule not to steal -- because it is okay to take food from a closed and abandoned supermarket during a natural disaster, like hurricane Katrina, to feed your children, if your family is trapped in the disaster area through no fault of your own and will starve to death without the food.
