The ethical and legal responsibilities of teaching are important to be familiar with, both for yourself as the teacher and for your students.

1. Provide a one paragraph summary of a VPK-12th grade teacher accused or disciplined

2. Review and cite what ethical principles were not followed in your example. Be sure to state the entire principle that was violated. For example, "Rule 6A-10.081(2)(a)5- Obligation to the student requires that the individual: Shall not intentionally expose a student to unnecessary embarrassment or disparagement."

3. Reflect:

Do you agree with the accusation? Explain why or why not.
Do you think educators have to live by different ethics than normal citizens? Explain.
Students' rights can be affected too. How would you protect the rights of each student without affecting the rights of other students?
