Determining Diffusivity of Solutes in a Liquid Compute the diffusion coefficient of a protein macromolecule bovine scrum albumin (BSA) at 23degreeC. Compute the diffusion coefficient of urea in water at 23degreeC. Consider the effective radius of BSA is 50 nm and that of urea is 0.16 nm. The viscosity of water at this temperature is 10-3 Pa-s. Compare these two diffusivities using the fact that BSA has a molecular weight of 67,500 while urea has a molecular weight of 60.1.
