PROJECT MANAGEMENT / MANAGEMENT OF ENGINEERING PROJECTS

A Project is comprised of 15 tasks.

Tasks 1, 2, 3 and 4 can start concurrently and their durations are 10, 11, 12 and 13 days respectively. Tasks 5, 6, 7 and 8 have durations of 10, 9, 8 and 7 respectively and task 5 can start 5 days after task 1 has started. Task 2 must be completed before task 6 can be started and task 7 follows on from task 3. Task 8 can be started 2 days after task 4 has been completed. Tasks 9, 10, 11 and 12 have durations of 5, 6, 7 and 8 days respectively. Tasks 13, 14 and 15 have durations of 5, 4 and 3 days respectively. Task 9 starts 3 days after task 5 finishes and task 10 starts once tasks 5 and 6 are complete. Task 11 cannot start before tasks 6 and 7 are completed and task 12 is dependent on the completion of tasks 7 and 8. Task 13 commences after tasks 9 and 10 are finished and task 14 cannot start until tasks 10 and 11 are finished. Task 15 can start 3 days after the start of task 11 but only if task 12 is complete. The project is complete when tasks 12, 13, 14 and 15 are complete.

Construct a work break down table showing the interdependencies of the tasks and show this graphically using a flowchart.
