An oiler tanker's engine's have broken down, and the wind isblowing the tanker straight toward a reef at a constant speed of1.5 m/s. When the tanker is 500m from the reef, the wind dies diwnjust as the engineer gets the engines going again. the rudder isstuck, so the only choice is to try to accelerate stright backwardfrom the reef. The mass of the tanker and cargo is3.6x10^7kg, and the engones produce a net horizontal force of8.0x10^4N on the tanker. The hull can with stand an impact ata speed of 0.2m/s or less. You can ignore the retarding force ofthe water on the tanker hull.

a.) Will the the ship hit the reef?

b.) Will the oil be safe if it hits the reef?
