In an aquifer of 10 km2 in area, the water table is initially at an elevation of 210 m. Due to the natural recharge in the rainy season the water level rises to 212.5 m. A volume of 1.5x106 m3 of water is then pumped out of the aquifer resulting in a decrease of the groundwater level to 208.8 m. Assuming that the water table in the aquifer responds similarly, estimate:
a-The aquifer Specific Yield
b-The volume of recharge during the rainy season.
