This is the instructions for the marketplace end of game spreadsheet.
This spreadsheet is used to estimate the value of the business at the end of the Marketplace Live simulation. You will need to extract, copy and paste the income statement and the balance sheet into the spreadsheet. Then, you will need to project results for quarters 11 and 12 to finish year 3. Next, from the DCF sheet you will need to estimate growth for the next four years.
Since the value of the business depends upon cash available for distribution to shareholders, you will need to estimate non-income expenditures such as investment in plant and equipment, changes in inventory, and changes in the amount of cash held on hand to operate the business.
Future cash flows need to be discounted back to the present to value the business. The discount rate is calculated using the CAPM model. The firm specific rate is estimated based upon how risky the future cash flows are. You will use the WACC tab to calculate your cost of capital.
