A ship uses a kite to assist propulsion and reduce fuel consumption. The ship is 120 meters long, with a wetted area of 2800 m^2. The kite area is 330 m^2 and a force coefficient of 0.8. The kite cable makes an angle of 25 degrees with the horizontal. The velocity of the wind is 30 miles/hour. Neglect ship wave drag.

Estimate the ship speed

a) due to the kite only
b) with the propeller delivering 1250 hp to the water and using kite
