Purple eye color in fruit flies is an autosomal recessive trait whereas the normal eye color in fruit files (brick color) is an autosomal dominant trait. If male and female fruit fly monohybrids (each with brick eye color but heterozygous for purple eye color) are crossed, what is the phenotypic ratio in the progeny that will result, and what is the probability of an offspring having purple eyes?
