The pipe has a diameter of 750 mm and is made of ductile iron. Estimate the pressure 200m downstream of the treatment plant if the pipe remains horizontal. Use the moody diagram to determine the friction factor ( you can also use the Swaimee-Jane equation). After 20 years in operation, scale buildup is expected to cause the roughness of the pipe to increase by a factor of 10. What is the effect of this on water pressure 200 m downstream of the plant?
