Question: (a) Samples of 100 patients are being drawn randomly from a clinical trial. If it is estimated that σ = 2.4 and x¯ = 106, estimate the population mean and confidence interval for a 95% confidence level.

(b) Suppose in (a) that the sample size has not been set, but n must be chosen to have a 99% confidence level with an error no more than 0.1. Estimate the sample size that should be used.
