The axial-flow pump shown in Fig. 12.19 is designed to move 5000 gal/min of water over a head rise of 5 ft of water. Estimate the motor power requirement and the U2Vθ2 needed to achieve this flowrate on a continuous basis. Comment on any cautions associated with where the pump is placed vertically in the pipe.
