Carbon dioxide gas is adsorbed onto 1g of manganese metallic powder surface at 217 K. The volume of CO2 which produces monolayer coverage has been determined to be 22.7 cm3 at STP. Given that the surface area of the metallic powder surface has been independently determined to be 147 m2 g-1 estimate the molecular area of CO2 (in nm2) and comment on your estimate.
