A steel bar, whose ultimate stress is 150,000 psi is subjected to a fluctuating tension-compression axial fatigue load that varies from a maximum of 75,000 lb in tension to a minimum of 25,000 lb in compression. Estimate the minimum bar diameter to prevent fatigue failure.
