A cannon fires a cannon ball at 999.16 m/s in a straight line that passes directly over an observer's head. If the observer hears the sound of the cannon fire 2.47 seconds after he sees the cannon ball pass over his head, how far is the cannon from the observer? The temperature on this day is 14.99 C.
