Question

Jamie is a young Medical Assistant in an established Family Practice office. She is the youngest in the group of MA's. Most of her peers are in their late 50's and have been there for quite some time. When Jamie first started everyone appeared to be very friendly and helpful. As time went on, she noticed that her peers continued to give her more daily duties than what she is assigned by her provider. They are giving her messages to call back for them, charts to document in that were not her patients for the day, and also not letting her take her 30 minute break for lunch. They would rotate lunch hours and would bypass her on a daily basis. Jamie didn't want her peers to be upset with her so she just completed everything they would give her without saying anything. It even got to the point that they would not rotate the 'late person' duties and they became her daily duties and she would be the only one who would be staying late after work to get them completed. During Jamie's 1-on-1 with her boss, she was asked how things were going. She was hesitant to share her experiences in that she didn't want the others to know she was complaining. She did share with her manager what was going on. The next week, all of her coworkers started to glare at her and no one would talk to her. She knew they found out and had been spoken too in regards to their behaviors. She tried to talk to them about daily business, however they would not respond to her. Did she do the right thing? Should she have spoken to her coworkers first or was sharing this with her manager the right thing? is there any hygiene concerns in this scenario, any professionalism concerns, any attitude concerns, any hygiene concerns?
