A Presumption of Reasonableness
Choose an article about a not-for-profit as it relates to the three elements that establish the presumption of reasonableness for a non-for profit organization. (p133). Address each of these three elements to include specific data, addressing conflict of interest, and documenting the basis for its determination. Incorporate a strategy and action plan for any other challenges the organization meets as it relates to intermediate sanctions.
1. These are the three elements that is required. The compensation arrangement must be approved in advance by a governing board (or a committee comprised entirely of independent directors) without conflict of interest.
2. The board or committee must obtain appropriate data as to comparability (e. g., compensation paid by similarly situated organizations for positions with a similar role and scope of responsibility).
3. The board or committee must adequately document the basis for its determination (e. g., the record includes a description of the decision made, the comparability data relied upon, and the basis for determining the compensation to be reasonable).
The requirements below must be met for your paper to be accepted and graded:
• Write between 1,250 - 1,750 words (approximately 3 - 5 pages) also word count do not include title page or reference page, using Microsoft Word in APA style, see example below.
• Use font size 12 and 1" margins.
• Include cover page and reference page. Word count do not include the cover page or reference page.
• At least 80% of your paper must be original content/writing.
• No more than 20% of your content/information may come from references.
• Use at least three references from outside the course material; one reference must be from EBSCOhost. Text book, lectures, and other materials in the course may be used, but are not counted toward the three reference requirement.
• Cite all reference material (data, dates, graphs, quotes, paraphrased words, values, etc.) in the paper and list on a reference page in APA style.
References must come from sources such as, scholarly journals found in EBSCOhost, CNN, online newspapers such as, The Wall Street Journal, government websites, etc. Sources such as, Wikis, Yahoo Answers, eHow, blogs, etc. are not acceptable for academic writing.
