The young parent worker provides counselling and group work to teenage parents to support them in their parenting role. This is the initial session with Carla, a 15 year old girl who has been referred by her local GP. Carla has recently found out that she is pregnant and feeling very overwhelmed with the changes this will bring to her life. Carla has decided she wants to keep her baby but is struggling to adjust to the idea of becoming a mum. She feels different to the other girls at school now and scared about her future and education. Carla's boyfriend does not want to be a dad. Carla feels isolated and alone.
