Competence: The Essence of the Practice of Law
As you know, I have developed a paradigm for professionalism in the Post University Legal Studies Program, it is "iCART". It stands for:
• Integrity
• Competence
• Accountability
• Responsibility
• Transparency
What is Competence?
Think of how you are handling this class...
• thoroughness and preparation
• diligence and promptness
Is this how you are handling your learning?
If so, you are doing so with competence; if not... it means you still can do so and you are learning that this is what it takes to be successful. It is also true of legal practice: continuous improvement is one of the key hallmarks of professionalism.
