Session 1 :we are exploring the context of the NHS. For us to appreciate leadership and management in healthcare services we need to understand the NHS context and Clinical Governance that affect healthcare in the UK.

This involves discussion on the root cause analysis, models of change and change management, stake holder analysis and business cases. These topics link very closely to your summative assignment and will help you to develop your innovation.

Session 3: we will explore leadership models. Leadership is an important aspect of professional nursing care. The NMC Code 2018 states that nurses must "Provide leadership to make sure people's wellbeing is protected and to improve their experiences of the health and care system" and that nurses "should be a model of integrity and leadership for others to aspire to".

Critically discuss your proposed delivery plan (Session 5) of changeimprovement / innovation to improve patient safety/outcomes in your field ofpractice (Session 5, LO 1,2, 3). You need to clearly evaluate the involvement ofall stakeholders in then developing the plans for delivering change and innovationthat focus on better outcomes for patients/clients.
