Essay on how to stop Domestic Violence in America.
Instruction:
Answer these questions for at least TWO other people in your group.
1. Persuasiveness
The thesis should be arguable, the arguments logical and cohesive, and the conclusion should leave the reader feeling convinced that the writer knows what she is talking about and has legitimate reasons for her assertions.
2. Number of reputable sources effectively used:
The writer needs to use sources that are effective and reputable, and it is the writer's responsibility to assure this reputation. If the publication or person is not recognizable as reputable, the author should provide evidence of this in the text of the essay. The writer must utilize at least five sources and cite each in their paper: the sources should be properly discussed/addressed, not just used in an apparently random way, and add to the overall effectiveness of the paper. Up to 6 points for each effectively used source.
3. MLA style
This applies to both the Works Cited page and the in-text citations. If you are unsure, ask me, get help at the Spartan Center, or check out the OWL at Purdue
4. Technical accuracy
This includes sentence structures, spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Generally, I take off fewer points for one consistent error than I do for 15 different ones. Again, see me if you have questions.
Editor: Mark any errors or possible errors in text. You don't need to fix them: just alert your writer to them.
5. Thoughtfulness:
The essay should illustrate complex, developed thought and evidence that the writer has spent time thinking deeply about the subject and the various sources to produce an effective paper (instead of, say, tossing a bunch of stuff together without extensive forethought).
6. Proper layout: page numbers, font, spacing, indents, etc:
7. Any other comments you'd like to make, as their Peer Editor?
