Question: Ruth Behar's "The Vulnerable Observer" (WoR pp. 109-129) and the piece of literature we've examined this week (Marjane Satrapi's Persepolis, Chapters 1-9) may seem to have nothing in common. The first is a theoretical piece about an anthropologist, and the other is a story about a young Satrapi growing up though societal upheaval and turmoil.
However, oftentimes, the most unlikely things can have working relationships with each other. "synthesizing," which is essentially the combining of ideas and the way those ideas work to reach a common idea or understanding.Thus synthesize these two seemingly dissimilar texts, Behar's essay and Satrapi's narrative, to make an argument in response to the prompt provided below.
