Learning Outcome 1: Demonstrate knowledge of the basic principles of Mechatronics and Measurement systems
Learning Outcome 2: Apply the key aspects of mechatronics systems engineering
Learning Outcome 3: Provide an overview of the sensors, amplifiers, conditioning circuits, and actuators
Learning Outcome 4: Demonstrate knowledge of the basic principles of controllers and the data acquisition systems
Task:
If you have been asked as a Mechatronics Engineer to design an ‘Autonomous Agri-Tech (land- based) Equipment' (AAE) to support the farming industry to be more innovative, productive, and sustainable. See example for AAE's in Figure 1.

Figure 1: Autonomous Agri-Tech (land-based) Equipment' (AAE)
Provide a technical report that contains the following:
1- A review of different AAE's currently in use and their main sub-systems, including their main elements.
2- A Design of an AAE that incorporates at least two main sub-systems. The system design should include the system controller, sensors, actuators and any other elements required for the system operation.
3- Select one of the subsystems discussed in (2) and develop a proof of concept.
4- Validate the operation of the subsystem developed in (3) and comment on the result.
5- Proposal for the next phases of development to include:
A- The use of other methods of data transmissions; wireless or wired data transmission.
B- The use of the Internet of Things
