Question

Grants are allocated on federal, state and local levels to supply the necessary equipment and training to law enforcement and first responders. However, for response to be effective it must first be cohesive. Each law enforcement agency trains to respond to critical incidents within their jurisdictions but how often do multiple jurisdictions train together? How often do local, state and federal agencies train together? This week's readings stress that the effectiveness of any multijurisdictional task force stems from "the preexisting relationships of the agencies involved" (Peak, 2016). If our success is based on the sharing of information between administrators from multiple jurisdictions, are we more prepared now than we were?
