What additional information would you need in order to understand the historical context.
1. For my topic, I have chosen the Equal Right Amendment and the forming of the Late 19th Century Women's Labor Union that focused on getting Women equal pay in the workplace. There are a few reasons why I wanted to and one of them is because I wanted to see how far along women have come with equal pay from the late 19th Century until now. Which has also prompted my question, is there still inequality in the workplace happening to Women in America? Where did this inequality for Women begin? How far have we come from then until now?
In reading the Quebecois immigration I would like to know what percentage of the 1 million who immigrated to America became successful. Were they able to take that success back to Quebec to help their communities become better? And also, how were their Women paid? Equally or not?
2. The historical event that I have chosen to analyze and learn more about is former President John F. Kennedy and the impact he made during his short time as a president. I had chosen a research question but after the feedback that I received from professor Azeem Mobh, I decided to go with the following research question: "What moves JFK made before 1963 which help to fuel the larger movement". (Mobh, 2022).
After reading about Quebecois immigrant and was researching this topic, I would like to know How did the Québécois immigrants surpassed all of the barriers that they faced with the KKK. From the moment they decided to migrate to the United States they faced many obstacles in which little by little they started to overcome all of their barriers in which it was explained in small details. When they talked about the KKK they really didn't mention much except that they were not excepted because of their religion and resulted in violence at one point. That is why I want to learn more on how or if they ever over came the barriers they faced with the KKK.
