Assessment - Group presentation: Novel solution to a global health challenge and peer feedback
Learning Outcome 1: Examine environmental factors from the local to the global levels that influence health and interpret the relevance to the health of populations.

Context
Teamwork and group presentations are leading activities in any health area. From research to policy development, working in team presentations helps to develop strengths and skills in sharing ideas, communicating with stakeholders, and clarifying information to the public.
The assessment also helps the student to understand and gain knowledge of the of evidence-based solutions targeting global health issue.
Task
Choose a global health challenge, and in groups create and present a novel solution. A ± 10- minute group presentation of a novel solution to a global health challenge. Additionally, complete the peer feedback template.
Task instructions
1) In groups of no more than four, choose a global health issue from the following list:
a. Infectious diseases & potential pandemics
b. Climate change related natural disasters
c. Food security and inequitable access to food
d. Delivering health during conflict and crisis
e. Inequitable access to healthcare, vaccines, and medicines
f. Responding to global health challenges: The double burden of communicable and non-communicable diseases.
g. Future challenges for health systems and climate change.
h. Water access, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) in low-income countries.
2) Prepare an oral presentation (approx. 10 minutes) using visual aids addressing the following points:
- A brief summary describing the global health issue, including the health impact, any socio-political, economic, geo-political, and historical context that contributes to the issue in a global scale and a population that suffer disproportionately from the health impacts of this global issue (3 to 4 minutes)
- Design and plan a novel solution addressing the challenges and impacts associated with the chosen global health issue, considering the following points (4-5 minutes):
o Objectives
o Target population(s)
o Measurable and realistic outcomes
o Key stakeholders
o Communication plan (How the solution will be disseminated?)
- A brief conclusion (1 minute)
- Include a slide with references.
3) Complete the TEAM MEMBER EVALUATION FORM using the template provided.
