1. Natural gas and 100% excess air enter the combustion chamber of the Capstone micro-gas turbine at 400 kPa and 452 °C. The mass flow rate of the natural gas is measured to be 0.0022 kg/s. Assuming the natural gas is approximately the same as methane and an adiabatic combustion chamber, determine the net work out (in kJ/kg) of the gas turbine if the combustion products leave the turbine at 100 kPa and 528 °C. Hint: What is the temperature at the turbine exit if the turbine was considered isentropic? Note that you may choose to solve problem 2 first.
