The ideas of Affirmative Action go much deeper than just ensuring there are diverse applicants for the organization. At its purest the process works deep into the practices of organizations and ensures it is working to provide an equal playing field for all applicants and employees in the organization. This equal playing field ensures that applicants that are qualified are given full consideration and not overlooked for opportunity. It does not require the organization to hire a candidate because they are from a particular race, or gender or unqualified. The applicant must be qualified and Affirmative Action allows the applicant the opportunity to compete for the job. Without this possibility, do you feel the organization will not continue the practice and the support of Affirmative Action and the EEOC is still needed to ensure opportunity for all?
