What would be a good response to this class post? What I learned from the list and smartbook reading was that communication plays a vital role in ensuring effective and efficient healthcare delivery. When doctors and patients communicate well, it leads to better understanding, trust, and collaboration. Patients feel heard, valued, and involved in their care, which positively impacts their treatment outcome. One of my present abilities that would improve patient care is interpersonal communication. When I speak with patients, I make an effort to listen intently in order to demonstrate my presence in the discourse and my respect for their opinions. I could definitely incorporate patient email correspondence. I have to communicate facts more concisely and clearly. Occasionally, in my eagerness to see patients as quickly as possible, I lose crucial information, which could be catastrophic. However with knowing my strengths and weaknesses I can better assess myself honing my skills overall.
