Manufacturing and Product Development A remote-control garage door opener has a series of 10 twoposition (0 or 1) switches used to set the access code. The code is initially set at the factory, and the switch sequence on the remote control and the opener must match in order to use the system.

a. How many different access codes are possible?

b. If all access codes are equally likely, what is the probability that a randomly selected system will have a code with exactly one 0?

c. To increase security and ensure that customers will have different access codes, new systems have 10 threeposition switches (0, 1, or 2). Answer parts (a) and (b) using the new system.
