Q5. Two containers are connected to each other by a pipe with a diameter of 3 cm. Container A initially contains water but container B is empty. The cross-sectional area of container A and B are respectively 4 and 8 m². If the energy head loss of the pipeline is h_L, determine an equation for the time needed to empty the container A completely. Your proposed equation should be in terms of container A surface area, pipe cross sectional area, A_p, and h_L.

Q6. Water flowing steadily at a rate of 0.16 m³/s is deflected upwards by an angled elbow as shown in the figure below. For D = 30 cm, d = 10 cm, and h = 50 cm, determine the force acting on the elbow and the angle its line of action makes with the horizontal. Take the internal volume of the elbow to be 0.03 m³ and disregard the weight of the elbow material and the frictional effects.
