We all have learned by now that there is no simple way to learn and apply the Lean Six Sigma process other than to just dive in and do it. It is akin to swimming in muddy water...it's difficult to see what is coming, and you have to rely on what you can perceive and learn from the past. DMAIC provides a framework for approaching an LSS improvement project. But how can you create a strategy for implementing an LSS activity in an organization? This is not unlike doing changing management; it requires a great deal of communication and data gathering in order to achieve the vision of a new and improved process. Once you have a strategy for implementing an LSS project, how will you design the project beyond the simple framework of DMAIC? Who will be involved? What will be their roles? Finally, how will you document learning curves and share best practices?

This week in your discussion you have the opportunity to reflect on the project you are completing, or one you have read about, and give your recommendations about strategy, design, and learning curves. What do the experts have to say about each? How do their thoughts support or contradict your natural instincts at this point?

Once again, great post! This is an interesting topic and I enjoyed reading about effective leadership in coaching, the strategic alignment with the players, and the impact.
Soccer has become the world's most popular sport with significant revenue gains and losses tied to team performance. Much like corporations, sports organizations must be innovative and evolving to contend with changes in customers' quality expectations and the expectations of society, and competition (Çavusoglu et al., 2018). Therefore, studies conducted in soccer science have been increased to perform match analyses and to evaluate and monitor players and the team performance player.
Çavusoglu et al. (2018), explained how the Turkish National Soccer Team used LSS to identify areas of improvement from a comprehensive list of variables. To do this, coaches and expert analysts from UEFA Pro, UEFA A, and UEFA met to apply LSS tools such as brainstorming and the fishbone to measure the soccer team's current process capability level (Çavusoglu et al., 2018). Next, a number of statistical analyses were conducted, and control charts were used to determine if the improvements were controlled.
Çavusoglu et al. (2018), state they examined 50 additional sports organizations and found eight have implemented a quality management system.

I was very impressed with the statement about having a strategy that is fit for the objectives and target audience, and the coaching style needs to be transformative.
To optimize the potential benefits of the mentoring relationship, both mentees and mentors should receive specialized training that will prepare them to leverage the resources inherent in this relationship and to make mutually beneficial contributions (Nearing, Nuechterlin, , Zerzanm, & Austin 2020).
It is important to train both parts and set expectations, in addition to the points you made about fit and coaching style. I've seen situations in which a coach and mentee are paired up but there are no expectations set, or training provided on the relationship and expected outcomes, and the results are not optimal.
Personally, it happened to me when I was doing my practicum. My mentor was awesome but there were no expectations set, and because we had it during the pandemic, I had a very hard time learning or experiencing what was expected as the outcome of the program. This because my mentor was not properly prepared for the program.
