Question 1 - Two concrete beams of 300 mm width and 500 mm depth is cast with span length as shown in the figure below. Determine the displacements at the mid-span and end span of this beam. Model this beams in 2D (plane stress) and 3D. Use three different meshes and compare the results with the theoretical solution.

Question 2 - Report the first five natural frequencies and present their corresponding deformed mode shapes for the 16 mm thick mild-steel (E = 210 GPa, ν = 0.3) plate. Obtain the results with three different meshes.
