Boeing outsourced works to low-paid contracts for cost-cutting and lay off in-house engineers. Its suppliers outsourced some of its 737 Max software development and testing to temporary workers. These temp workers, some of whom were recent college graduates, were employees or contract workers for Indian tech firms HCL Technologies and Cyient Ltd. Boeing's cultivation of Indian companies appeared to pay other dividends that it has won several orders for Indian military and commercial aircraft, However, it was far less efficient than Boeing engineers just writing the code and it took many rounds going back and forth because the code was not done correctly that leads to a pair of deadly crashes. Use stakeholders, the issues, and the three models (outcome-based, duty-based, and virtues-based models) to describe and analyze this ethical dilemma.
