Activity 3: complete the Personal Development Plan Template

Activity 1, consider your priorities by examining your scores in Column C. Are they goals you want to work on and achieve this Academic year? Choose one of these goals to take forward.

Why you have chosen this goal to work on:

In the UK SPEC Each goal is related to a number of bullet points which indicate the type of evidence that can be used to demonstrate that goal. Gathering this evidence could be considered as a sub-goal. For the goal that you have chosen, list the sub-goals in the table below. Use the template below to make notes as you go along: when stating the sub-goal in the left-hand column, briefly state where you think you will find the evidence for this. This may be work that you need to do during the year or evidence that you already have that you need to record against the goal. Record the date when you expect to have the evidence and any resource that you need to achieve it.

Activity 4: Achieving Goals Planner (Cottrell 2019)
Complete the matrix below for one of your sub-goals. This is to help you self-assess what obstacles you may face in achieving your goals.

Week 4: CV Writing
At the end of this session, you will:

Week 6 : Reflective Practice

By the end of this session, you should be:
able to recognise the importance of personal reflection
confident in interpreting and using Gibbs Reflective Model
able to explain what makes ‘critical reflection' critical
able to understand how critically reflective writing is assessed in your portfolio

Reflecting on a recent experience of working in an Engineering team write a reflective piece about your experience (around 50 words in each section).

What Happened?
What were you thinking and feeling?
Evaluation - what was good and bad about the experience?
Analysis - What sense can you make of the situation?
Conclusion - What else could you have done?
Action Plan - If this arose again what would you do?
Action Plan - Identify any further research or development activities that you could undertake to improve your performance in this area

Activity 1: Goal Update
Previously, you were asked to set your goals. In order to develop your action plan for next year, you need to understand the progress you have made:

Activity 2: Developing an Action Plan
A structured Action plan can help to clarify exactly what you hope to achieve as well as providing a framework to decide how you will achieve your goals.
