Throughout the unit, you've been reading excerpts from the medieval narrative poem The Canterbury Tales and have applied comprehension strategies to analyze the poem's characterization, tone, narrator, voice, and perspective. You've also started gathering material to write a modern allegory inspired by the pilgrims' stories in The Canterbury Tales by deciding on a theme, sketching characters, choosing a point of view, etc. You will now draft a 3-5 page allegory that is engaging for the reader and conveys a moral message.

Remember that your description should fulfill the following requirements:

The events in the story convey a meaning that goes beyond the basic plot.
Characters represent specific qualities or flaws of society.
The story teaches an explicit or implied moral message.

An allegory is also a story, so it should also follow the structure of any narrative writing. The main components of a narrative include the following:

beginning that grabs the reader's attention
middle part that contains events that flow naturally and culminate into a climax
ending that offers the resolution of the story
