Assignment - Body Paragraphs and Conclusion

Overview - For this assignment, you will write the body paragraphs and conclusion paragraph for your research essay. Now that you have mapped out the contents of your entire paper in your outline, you will develop the individual body paragraphs. Each body paragraph should discuss one of your supporting points (from the thesis). A complete body paragraph includes a topic sentence that clarifies the main idea of the paragraph. It also contains at least one piece of evidence from a source that is used to support your main idea, along with your own discussion of why that evidence is important. You should cite any information taken from sources in SWS style. When writing body paragraphs, you'll learn to use transitional words within and between each paragraph to help show your reader how your ideas are connected. A complete body paragraph should contain 5-7 sentences.

Requirements - You will use the templates in the web-text to develop each of your body paragraphs and your conclusion paragraph. Make sure to:

Write a supporting paragraph for each of the three thesis points.

Include a topic sentence, supporting sentences, and evidence to support your main idea in each paragraph.

Write a conclusion paragraph that will wrap up your research essay.

Restate your thesis in a new way to remind readers of your main argument.

Leave your readers with a memorable impression of why your argument is important or a call to action that will inspire them to agree with your position.

Use third-person point of view to write your body paragraphs and conclusion.
