Employers and employees have a unique relationship. The employee agrees to provide the employer with a fair day's work, and in return the employer agrees to provide a fair day's wage. Pam is a receptionist for Dunder Mifflin. Although her day is usually pretty full, Pam is not always busy and spends time drawing pictures or talking to her colleague, Jim, even playing tricks on another colleague, Dwight. However, Pam is paid a minimum wage of $7.50, despite other receptionists in similar positions making $13 per hour. Do you believe Pam is acting unethically? What about Dunder Mifflin?
