An employer authorizes employees to act as agents on its behalf? If the employee exceeds the authority given is the company still liable to a third party? As an example: Carlos is an employee and delivers pizza for Mama Mia's Pizza Parlor. One of his employer's rules is that delivery employees are never to violate posted speed limits. While traveling 50 miles per hour in a 30-mile-per-hour speed zone on the way to deliver pizza, Carlos negligently crashes into a city bus. Is Mama Mia's liable for the injuries caused by Carlos? Can Carlos sue Mama Mia's for making him speed to meet the delivery requirements?
